Smithfield RSL Cricket Club originated from the Victoria Hotel at Smithfield on the corner of The Horsley Drive and Smithfield Road.
Back then it was known as Smithfield Cricket Club and was run out of the hotel. It switched over to the RSL Club in 1965 not long after it was built.
This was a time when players like Tom Noble, Norm Betts & Ellis Noack were around and Gwen White was the scorer. As you can see below, this is the original honours board that use to hang in the old sports bar with a few of the names of the past.
