The Smithfield RSL Cricket Club originated from the Victoria Hotel at Smithfield on the corner of The Horsley Drive and Smithfield Road. Back then it was called Smithfield Cricket Club and was run out of the pub. It switched over to the RSL Club not long after it was built in the early 1960's. The exact year is still being researched and is hard to determine without any records. The RSL Cricket Club has been supported by and run out the RSL and spent some time utilising the Youth Centre accross the road for presentations also. It has grown to be one of the largest cricket clubs in the Fairfield Liverpool Cricket Association. To be continued...................
